Photographer Mitch Weiss was at the Fairmont Copley on Monday night to celebrate the release of his new book, “Dogs in Thought,” which features portraits of working dogs — including animals that have helped the Boston Police Department, the MBTA, and Boston Children’s Hospital. Proceeds from the book benefit the MSPCA and the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Weiss was surrounded at the party by MSPCA-Angell president Carter Luke, MBTA deputy chief Robert Lenehan, Museum of Fine Arts deputy director Katie Getchell, Humble Hues book publisher Michael Winston, Estrellita Karsh (widow of portrait photographer Yousuf Karsh), and the Fairmont’s royal pet, Catie Copley.
