“Chasing Life” must be pretty good. The ABC Family series, which is based in Boston and filmed its pilot episode and exterior scenes around town (and in The Boston Globe’s newsroom), just got picked up for seven more episodes before its premiere next year, according to Deadline.com. The series was originally set to film 13 episodes for its first season, so now it’ll be a big 20. The show, which is about a young reporter at a Boston newspaper who discovers she has a life-threatening illness, will be filmed in Los Angeles, but the cast — including Italia Ricci and Steven Weber — was in town in October to film outdoor scenes around Beacon Hill.
