Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was supposed to be at Wednesday night’s Celebrity Gaming Challenge, a night of video games to benefit the Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation and the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation. Of course, the injured Gronk could not attend, so in his place was Red Sox infielder Will Middlebrooks, who stepped in to cohost with his pal Pats backup quarterback Ryan Mallett . The event, which was filmed for a television pilot (producers are with the local Blind Sheep Studios), featured gaming finalists competing on teams with the athletes for a top prize (the Xbox One).
