At the tender age of 22, Berklee student is TED senior fellow
A shout-out to Berklee student Usman Riaz, who’s been tapped to be one of 12 TED senior fellows who will present at the next four TED conferences. So what? At 22, the Pakistani composer-filmmaker is the youngest TED senior fellow ever selected. Riaz was classically trained on the piano at the age of 6, and later taught himself percussive guitar, mandolin, harmonium, and percussion. After a viral video for his song “Fire Fly” caught the eye of TED curator Chris Anderson, Riaz found himself onstage at TEDGlobal 2012 in Edinburgh. Riaz is in his first semester at Berklee.
