There may be a bit of good news for folks who worry that Harvard Square has been overrun by banks and chain stores. Forget Abercrombie & Fitch, we’re excited that Mike’s Pastry is opening a new shop in the neighborhood. According to the Harvard Square Advisory Committee’s page on the City of Cambridge website, the North End bakery famous for its cannolis is looking to open a new place at 11 Dunster St. Sweet. . . . In other restaurant news, the former site of Todd English’s flagship restaurant Olives will apparently become Legal C Bar. According to documents on file at City Hall, Olives is petitioning the Licensing Board to transfer the alcohol license to Legal C Bar. English has said that he hopes to reopen Olives elsewhere with his son Oliver, in a “new and shiny” location. The Charlestown restaurant closed in June 2013.
