Governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Marty Walsh, and Massachusetts Convention Center executive director Jim Rooney were all smiles before welcoming conventioneers from across the country to the opening session of the Professional Convention Management Association Convening Leaders gathering this week. . . . And this just in: Encouraged by positive reviews — and 16 sold-out performances in Watertown — New Repertory Theatre will present an encore of Deborah Margolin’s play, “Imagining Madoff,” from May 28 through June 1. The show, directed by Elaine Vaan Hogue, runs through Jan. 26 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown. The encore will be staged at BU’s Lane-Comley Studio 210 on Huntington Ave. . . . Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard enjoyed a big bowl of seafood chowder at Clink at the Liberty Hotel before his team’s game against the Celtics. It was probably a just a coincidence, but he scored 32 points.
