JoJo gets a new deal, Maura Tierney gets a new show

Foxborough-bred singer Joanna Levesque — you know her as JoJo — who’s been fighting for years to get out of her contract with Blackground Records — has signed a new contract with Atlantic Records, according to the Los Angeles Times. JoJo has released mixtapes but hasn’t been able to put out an official CD because of her problems with the Blackground label. Her first big single was 2004’s “Leave (Get Out).” . . . Hyde Park native Maura Tierney, formerly of “ER” and “News Radio,” is headed to Showtime. The cable network picked up “The Affair,” a drama about an extramarital relationship that will also star Joshua Jackson.
