Nick Cave — the American artist famous for wearable fabric sculptures he calls Soundsuits and not the Australian musician with the severely receding hairline — celebrated both his birthday and the opening of his new exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art with a party attended by museum director Jill Medvedow, senior curator Jenelle Porter (above, with Cave), ICA trustee Steve Corkin, Dan Maddalena, and Claire-Aude Staraci of Coach, which is the exhibition’s corporate sponsor. Cave’s whimsical sculptures are on view through May 4.
