Former mayor Tom Menino preps for upcoming ‘Cities’ conference

Boston University students were still enjoying spring break on Friday, but former Boston mayor Tom Menino was back from his spring break: watching the Sox play in Fort Myers. Menino was hard at work in his new Bay State Road office, where he was preparing for his March 24 conference, “Leading Cities Through Crisis: Lessons From the Boston Marathon.” Reached by phone, the co-director of BU’s new Initiative on Cities first talked baseball. “Jon Lester looked sharp as a tack. [John] Lackey looked really good, people got a couple of runs off him. . . ”
