Man wanted for Cape Cod murder
Cheryl Tavares' body found in car trunk By Associated Press, 04/09/02 Hampden, Maine — A man arrested this morning in Hampden, Maine, is wanted for a murder near Cape Cod. Police say Leonard Giroux, 21, of Bourne will face a murder charge in the strangulation death of Cheryl Tavares, 40, of Wareham. Tavares' body was discovered in the trunk of a car parked in the Sagamore commuter lot off Rte. 3 in Bourne. Giroux was arrested in his father's trailer in Hampden on a warrant for failing to appear in Maine court to answer misdemeanor criminal mischief charges.
