While I am not surprised that there are evil people in the world who would carry out these events, I am shocked and outraged to see footage of people in islamic nations celebrating this event.
We have had many conflicts throughout the world and had many enemies, but as Americans we ALWAYS differentiate between enemy governments and their citizens. We grew up opposed the USSR but never had anything against the Russian people. Same for all our other enemies. It is disgusting that middle eastern people, who we have tried to guide to peace for so long take such pleasure in the murder of our citizens.
I cannot imaging the people of the US celebrating the slaughter of innocents anywhere - before yesterday. I fear that all that has changed in the last day. The US Government is far from perfect and certainly has had some unfair and evil international policies. But worrying about all that is past now. Right or wrong in the past, we will stand together now and support the utter destruction of all those who think they can attack this nation.

If the people of Palestine are responsible for this, then there is nothing we can do. They have been fighting each other and other nations for the last 2000 years. It is the same reason for the Crusades and WWI. It will never end because of the belief system they are raised upon. If we were to put an end to their terrorism we would have to erradicate their entire bloodline and history, which would be genocide.
And I am willing to bet the people who did this were already living in this country....
From now I on I think immigration should be extremely strict and minimal on who they allow in our great nation...
For the first time in my life I am scared......

All domestic pilots should be licensed to bear arms in the cockpit for terrorist situations. One shot to the head of each of these terrorists would have saved what I fear might be thousands of innocent american lives.
While I don't think violence is the best way to solve any situation, I also don't think there is much else you can do when someone is prepared to die to carry out such an act.
I am sad and I feel completely helpless.
I pray for every single person in this country today.
Mimi, San Francisco
I dont feel more afraid or vulnerable than before. Iīve allways known that whatsoever terrible can happen in the world. So much for me, anyway Iīm wxtremely shocked , I find it hard to breath cos this was so massively unjust and nightmarish. I canīt even talk with most people I know. I donīt go to my local pubs or bars, I donīt want to hear people who might say something really stupid, I want to protect myself for a while. And by the way, I donīt believe that even the "coming" San Francisco earthquake will be this massive and awful, with such huge numnber of victims. If something happens here big time, it will be drastic but not with 10.000 or more victims, just mother earth moving a bit.
God bless us!!! (well he never does), letīs say: May the Angels give us their wisdom and strength to solve out who did this and what to do in furtherance.

I don't feel afraid. But I do feel like our country is vulnerable now. As a moderate liberal, I have become patriotic and hawkish overnight.
Our country needs short-term and long-term security measures. Short-term meassures are ovious. long term we need to invest in advanced security systems, not just at airports but human intelligence. Also, we need hold those states and organizations acccountable who harbor, fund, and support terrorists - whether directly or indirectly.

Yes...We are vulnerable....but we cannot live in fear...we are vulnerable to any life-threatening catastrophe...Tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, wild fire, earthquakes etc....and most of them are uncontrollable...but we must not live our lives in fear or we will not really be living....so I personally will stay busy doing what I always do...and taking life one day at a time...and appreciating today....My thoughts right now are with the families of the victims...such a tragic loss of life....anything else can be rebuilt....I have confidence in the fact that we live in the best and safest country in the world. Our military will handle this, as it needs to be handled.

I went to the roof of my house yesterday to look towards Boston and see if I could see the F-15 flying above Copley. As I sat there an accident occured down my street, nothing serious, minor car fender bender. But with the sirens and looking for the jet I realized this seemed like something out of a 2nd of third world country where civil wars are routine. Not something that should happen in the strongest, greatest country anywhere. It brought the violence and sence of lost security home to where it is supposed to be safe.

Today, I feel ashamed of being called a Muslim. Today I feel ashamed of being called a Pakistani. I support President Bush and America.
My Blessing is with all the people who suffered in the attack. This act of Terrorism is Brutal. It shows the cowardness and backwardness of the societies, who call themselves Muslims. And Today All the Muslims living in the world should feel ashamed of themselves.

There is no airport security. I forgot that I had a large Alaskan "ulu" knife in my carry on, and it got past the security checkpoint in Vancouver BC. Then in Toronto it was discovrred, the security guards looked at me when I said it was not important, and tolf them they could just throw it away (it was a gift for a cook). They looked from one to another, and let me board WITH this huge weapon. I could have decapitated someone with that thing if I wanted to. This was on a flight from Toronto to Boston THREE weeks ago. Security? Nope.

This is the straw that broke the Camel's back . How many more innocent people have to be tortured before we make an example out of someone.
I firmly believe we should make the Middle east disappear. It makes me sick that these terrorists took over planes flown from Boston. Everyone involved with security at Logan needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.
