Has this country changed?

"This is a different country this morning," the Globe's David Shribman writes, a nation brought to a breathless, terrified standstill. Do you feel vulnerable, afraid? Have we lost our freedom, our sense of security, our breezy confidence? Share your thoughts.

Am I afraid? I'm working in Boston's financial district and the FBI just entered the Westin-Copley Hotel with their guns drawn! Of course, I am afraid!

Not Angry, Framingham
How about we people start with economic boycott of the group of people liable for this. Don't ride the cab ... don't buy from ... don't try to sell .... don't help .... Until, they stop suporting this kind of terror.

Mark Stygles, Hopedale
This may seem a different country, but, it is by no means “a nation brought to a breathless, terrified standstill.” Today, Americans are stunned. Stunned by the disgusting disregard for human life displayed by a group of cowardly religious fanatics. Americans do not understand such evil behavior. It goes against our grain. We are a courageous and determined people. We will go forward, find those responsible for these crimes against humanity, and make them pay dearly for their actions. Americans do not come to a “terrified standstill,” they catch their breath, mourn for the victims and become stronger and more determined than before. Our nation has suffered a tremendous blow, but our people are strong and will not allow our way of life to be compromised by a group of ideologically and morally corrupt savages.
