The seeds of yesterday were planted back in 93 with our response, or lack thereof, to their first attack of the WTC. I trust President Bush and his advisors will make them, and the countries that coddle them, pay dearly.
Joe, Somerville
In this moment of crisis it is reassuring to see the strength and heroism exihibited in both NYC and DC. We can only pray that there will be justice and that justice will lead to more peace and not more death.
Shana, Walpole
They can take my body if they choose, but they can't take my soul. I still plan on living my life exactly the way that I do now. Anything less would mean that they won and I'll be dammed if I'll let that happen.
L.M., Boston
the best way that each of us can defy these human vermin is to get up today, Thursday and everyday then go about our business in a normal way. To simply recoil in fear is to give into this vile activity. The US Government will make its point to these groups and their state supporters in its own time and way. Each of us can do the same by remembering those lost but also by living our lives in a normal way.
Amy D., No. Attleborough
As an American, we will never lose our freedom. We are blessed to live in this great country. However, our sense of security has been rocked in the way these terrorists were able to board planes in our airports armed. We have to address these processes and make the necessary changes countrywide and at our borders.
Guy Smallwood, N. Attleborough
As americans we have lost nothing but our innocence that this generation has had since 1945. Sun Tzu stated that you should alway allow your enimes room to retreat. Else they will fight rabidly and you will lose the battle. Where are we as americans to run? I feel we should take the battle to them. Let the terrorist orginizations, Hamas, PLO, IRA feel the full fury of our anger. That America will no longer stand idle as innocents are slain. Terrorism is not a battle that can be won on the battlefield alone. Nor can it be won in the courts alone. However when we commit atrosities in war we face war crimes. Let this same standard be met. This was a act of war the weapon was terrorism. If the leaders of this are captured that is the crime they should face. If they continue their aggresion we must defend ourselves and our culture.

Yesterday I was shocked and saddened. Today I am filled with intense anger. America and its allies must join together NOW and declare WAR on ALL countries that support terrorism. Anything less will allow these cowardly acts to continue.
Jennifer Phelan, Framingham
I couldn't fall asleep feeling that I might miss something. I was scared to put my son to sleep wondering "is this the last time I'll read goodnite moon", "will this be the last kiss I get from my husband". Through all the sadness, this will bring the country together. Just remember , "I had a dream....".
John, Milford
AS I woke up this morning the profound sense of loss was overwhelming. I had wished so hard that it was all a nightmare. However, that being said, I actually feel less vulnerable today than I have in the past. As a frequent traveler, I have always felt it would not be too difficult to do something like this. Come on, did asking "has anyone asked you to carry anything" really make you feel more secure?
As far as retribution goes, to me it does not matter who did this. It is time to put an end to all terrorism. We know who the terrorists are. We need to hit them all. We need to send such a strong message that no one will ever dare do this again. We need to take all of the terrorist out. The Taliban, Muslim extremists, the Irish and the "militias" within our own country. We have the capability to do this. Enough is enough.
Michael G., Arlington
When you shop out security to the lowest bidder and then employ inexperienced non military or police trained personnel you get disaster. This is our wake up call.
