Suresh, Boston
I talked to my children about the tragic events. Our thoughts are with the families of all those affected not just in NYC and DC, but all the other places where loved ones wait anxiously for news.

Brian McKenna, Millington, NJ
Pearl Harbor, my Grandparents said. JFK, my parents say. September 11, 2001. I know where I was when the worst moment in American history took place. And to think, during my lifetime. It's funny what it takes for our country to unite and become patriotic. A total and complete lack of defense. A brilliant and sophisticated attack? Our ignornace and lack of funds and effort where it should be, is translated as their initial victory? I am angry. As most do, I want action now. I want destruction and bloodshed and will not be content with anything less. It is apparent that they could take us at any time. You tell me not to hate. You tell me not to be prejudice. And I tell you that my father was in one of those towers, and I know exactly where I was on September 11, 2001. I will never forget.

Margaret, Southeast Mass.
My heart is so heavy with grief for the families of these victims, and the US, that I can do nothing but cry. I feel so helpless; the workings of just a few madmen have changed all of our lives forever. My heart, prayers, and thoughts are with each and every family that is experiencing this extreme loss firsthand. I wish there was something I could do or say.

Michelle Foster, Brighton
It is in these times of struggle and pain that I can say I am proud to be an American. Never have I seen so many people so willing to do all that is necessary to help those who have been affected by this tragedy. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of have suffered during these times of terror. May God shine his light upon you and carry you to safety.

J. White, Malden
September 11th will never be the same, the day terrorists executed thousands in a act of shame. The twin towers of the World Trade Center crumbled to the ground, hundreds DEAD and thousands yet to be found! America is in shock as the tragedy begins to sink in, Rage and revenge is our response to this horrible sin! Watching the News seems surreal, we are still in disbelief, To see the actual devastation and the country filled with grief. But Americans have come together to unite and help those in need, while our government plans an attack to wipe out this ugly seed! We will emerge from this a stronger nation, still the greatest place on this earth, and will never forget the people we lost, but can never replace there worth.

Roma, Dundee, MI
Try to find some positive thoughts or they ("they" are not human so I don't know what to call them) will destroy you just as surely as they destroyed your loved one, Please do not give them any more power, stay positive. I have no real conception of what you must be going through as I am not wearing your shoes as to the best of my knowledge my family and loved ones are safe. May God be with you and comfort you. I am very sorry this horrible thing has happened to you and to us as a whole. Love and prayers, Roma

Rachel Simmons, Boston
Our thoughts and prayers, here in Boston, go out to all those who have lost loved ones in this horrible tragedy. And...to all those who are volunteering their blood, sweat and tears to aid in the search for those who are missing...we salute you.

Sharon, Dedham
I can't even begin to imagine what the survivors and families, friends, and colleagues of the victims are experiencing right now. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have been affected by this disaster. I pray for a safe return for all of the rescue workers who are spending sleepless hours trying to rescue / recover all or any victims from the WTC and from the Pentagon.

Tom, Lexington
May God bless America, it's citizen's and especially those wounded and killed by Tuesday's attacks. In times like these, it is important to get together with loved ones and families, as well as reaching out to show support for our President and military. Please remember that our world may have changed, but our core values have not. Our pursuit for life, liberty and justice stays the same..and should be extended to all Americans (and future Americans, for that matter) throughout the country. Come together with our neighbors, we can not let them fear the practice of their religion in this country. That right alone is a basic reason to be a proud American.

Adam Wallace, Sydney, Australia
The people of the US are not alone. The world prays with you. Australians died in New York and Washington. We are all bereaving those innocents who did nothing wrong. God bless.
