Concert postponements and cancellations kept pouring in yesterday in the aftermath of Tuesday's tragedy. Many shows at clubs and arenas were scrapped, though some that will go ahead as planned are the biggest events in the region, including John Mellencamp at the Tweeter Center tonight and the Guess Who/Joe Cocker bill at the Tweeter Center tomorrow.

"Travel logistics are the main concern," said Pam Fallon of Clear Channel Concerts, which books the Tweeter Center.

While Mellencamp, the Guess Who, and Cocker will be able to make it to Boston, many other acts feared they could not. The FleetBoston Pavilion had to postpone last night's B. B. King Blues Festival and tomorrow's WODS Oldies Concert. New dates have not been chosen. The Pavilion also had to postpone Tuesday's Lee Ann Womack booking.

John Hiatt canceled his noontime appearance yesterday at Borders in Downtown Crossing. It would have been broadcast live on WBOS (92.9 FM), said station spokesman Adam Klein.

World music events were also affected. Habib Koite postponed his Sanders Theatre appearance for tomorrow. And the same with Cachaito Lopez (bassist with the Buena Vista Social Club) at the Somerville Theatre on Sunday. No new dates are available.

Hard-rockers Godsmack canceled their Tuesday show at the Augusta Civic Center, but are still on for Saturday's show at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H., expected to be their last New England date of the year.

An event called "A Twist of Marley" at the Berklee Performance Center on Sunday (refunds at point of purchase) was canceled. It was to feature Lee Ritenour, Jonathan Butler, Patti Austin, and Gerald Albright. And in other jazz news: The Regattabar is closed through Saturday, while Keely Smith's three-night run at Scullers is off. The Sonny Rollins show at Berklee tomorrow is on. And the Davis Square Jazz Festival is still on tomorrow.

The Worcester Palladium canceled tonight's show with Juliana Theory "because of travel plans," said Sylvia Cunha of MassConcerts. Theory's shows tomorrow and Saturday at the Orpheum with jam-band moe., however, are still a go.

Some ticket on-sale dates were also postponed. Upcoming Avalon club shows with They Might Be Giants and Midnight Oil will now go on sale Sept. 21. Ticket sales for an October date with Boz Scaggs at the Orpheum were also pushed to Sept. 21. And U2's concert at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence on Oct. 30 has no new on-sale date at the moment. Stay tuned.

The Middle East in Cambridge canceled tonight's Middle East Upstairs show with Moldy Peaches and tomorrow's with the Weaker Thans. But tonight's Middle East Downstairs bill with Black Sheep is on, as is tomorrow's date with the Faint.

Also, today's Globe Calendar listings may not be up to date, due to cancellations and reschedulings after this week's tragedy. Please call to reconfirm all events.
