Statement by Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of Chicago.

I have known Bernard Cardinal Law since my first years as a priest in Mississippi, and I have always valued his counsel and friendship. With others, I pray that the Holy Father’s acceptance of the Cardinal’s resignation as Archbishop of Boston will be the occasion for needed healing to begin in the Archdiocese of Boston.

Catholics in the Archdiocese of Chicago will be keeping the Archdiocese of Boston and its new administrator in their prayers at this difficult time.
