PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine’s highest court will be holding sessions in three schools this fall.

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court announced Monday that it will be visiting Biddeford, Brunswick and Bucksport high schools next month.

Typically, students receive copies of the briefs in advance and after the oral argument the lawyers stay to answer questions from students.

Chief Justice Leigh Saufley says the appellate courts are rarely seen on TV or in movies, and that it’s important for students to see justice in action.end of story marker
