PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority is announcing a statewide initiative aimed at linking college students with internship opportunities in fields ranging from health care and design to finance and manufacturing.
RISLA will be joined by the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Rhode Island and Gov. Lincoln Chafee (CHAY'-fee) Tuesday morning at a news conference announcing the ‘‘bRIdge’’ initiative. Businesses will be able to create internship listings at the bRIdge.jobs website, where they can be easily searched by college students and graduates.
The initiative is being launched in collaboration with the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
Tuesday’s event is taking place at a Hasbro office in East Providence
