5 Vt. schools honored for AP classes

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Five Vermont high schools are being honored by the College Board for increasing access to advanced placement courses while raising the percentage of students earning passing scores of 3 or higher on AP exams.
Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, Harwood Union High School in Duxbury, North Country Union High School in Newport, Stowe High School and U-32 in Montpelier have been placed on the AP District Honor Roll.
The College Board’s AP Program allows academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies while in high school.
BFA Principal Dennis Hill said the school is honored, but not surprised, to be a recipient of this award. He said the school’s AP teachers are dedicated to their craft, committed to their students and make learning an exciting and enriching experience.
