NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) — The funerals for the 26 victims of a Connecticut elementary school shooting are wrapping up after a wrenching week of farewells in Newtown.
Services were scheduled Saturday in Connecticut for 7-year-old Josephine Gay and 6-year-old Ana Marquez-Greene.
A service also was held Saturday for 6-year-old Emilie Parker, who was laid to rest next to her grandfather in Ogden, Utah. Emilie’s parents emerged from the service carrying their two other daughters, Madeline and Samantha, The Salt Lake Tribune reported (http://bit.ly/RbAo0X). The girls were wearing pink coats, their older sister’s favorite color.
Twenty children and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14. The lone gunman also killed his mother before going on the rampage and then committing suicide.
