SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — A former dean of the University of Rhode Island’s College of Nursing has been inducted into the state’s Nursing Hall of Fame
The university says Dayle Joseph was inducted during the state nurses association’s Nightingale Gala last week.
Joseph started as a part-time instructor at URI in 1973. She became an associate professor in 1991. Four years later, she became interim dean of the nursing school before being named to the post permanently in 2001. She retired last year.
The university says Joseph focused on advanced planning in collaboration with the school faculty and helped implement internal upgrades, including in technology.
Joseph calls the induction an honor and says she was taken about to learn about it.
