At Emmanuel College on May 9 bestselling author Dennis Lehane told graduates that the future of the country is brighter than it was four years ago, when he also gave commencement speeches.

"There's a feeling that we're on this big ocean liner and it's just begun to tack. It's going to take a while to get to 180 degrees again," he said in an interview before the address.
