Brown, author of children's books and the television series "Arthur," said he planned to talk about the importance of persistence on May 16 at Lesley University.

"It's doing what you love to do and persevering," Brown said. "Find what you love and stick to it. It's so important. Life is short. It sounds like a simple message, but it's worked for me."
