BANGOR, Maine—An administrator at the City University of New York is in line to become president of the University of Southern Maine.
University of Maine System Chancellor Richard Pattenaude said Wednesday that he's recommending Selma Botman, CUNY's executive vice chancellor and provost, from among four finalists for the presidency. University system trustees will vote on the appointment Monday.
Pattenaude said the 57-year-old Botman has exceptional academic and leadership skills gained during her 20-year career in higher education and is deeply committed to students and their success.
Botman would succeed Pattenaude, who stepped down last summer to become chancellor.![]()
