Slain BU grad student identified

BOSTON—The name of a Boston University graduate student who was shot to death has been released.
The Boston Globe reports ( http://bo.st/Jya8rF) that university officials identified the man as Kanagala (kan-ah-GAL'-ah) Seshadri Rao (RAOW). The 24-year-old from India had been shot in the head and leg and was found in the city's Brighton neighborhood just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
Rao had enrolled in a highly selective graduate management program last year.
University authorities say they have stepped up patrols in the campus area.
There have been no arrests.
