A director of admissions at Smith College recently received this Scrabble board alongside an application from a high-schooler in Virginia.
The prospective student is one of many who colleges say are submitting unusual objects with their application forms, in a bid to grab the attention of university administrators to boost their chances of winning admission to a particularly competitive school.
