GREENFIELD
Franklin County’s only Roman Catholic school is closing at the end of the school year after years of falling enrollment and financial struggles. The Springfield Diocese informed parents of Holy Trinity School students of the decision Thursday. The Greenfield school almost closed last year in the face of a $100,000 deficit, but fund-raising efforts that included $40,000 from the diocese kept it running. The school, founded in 1929 and managed by the diocese since 2002, has 35 students in grades K through 6, and 16 in preschool programs.![]()
