SALT LAKE CITY—Charges have been dropped against a former Utah preschool teacher who police say had alcohol in her system during school hours, but wasn't showing signs of intoxication.
KSL-TV reports ( http://bit.ly/sYeCWm) a judge signed an order on Thursday dismissing the first-year teacher's case. Pleasant Grove City Attorney Tina Petersen says there wasn't enough evidence that the teacher was a danger to herself or others.
School administrators and police questioned the teacher after an anonymous tip. Police gave the teacher a field sobriety test that proved her blood alcohol content was about half the legal driving limit. She was gave a citation.
An Alpine School District spokeswoman says the woman resigned immediately. She was a special education teacher who had worked at the school for a couple of weeks.
