Snow days spent, with winter weeks away
In Belchertown, there was no school this week because of the snowstorm and power outages.

As the state recovers from the snowstorm that pummeled the region last week, some school districts are still struggling to reopen, either because schools need to have power restored or because too many local homes are without electricity. But school administrators must also look at the long-term effects of the canceled week of school, playing a numbers game with the academic calendar to anticipate how many school days might need to be added through the rest of the year.
