Body found in Braintree identified as missing man
By Catherine Elton, Globe correspondent
The Norfolk District Attorney's office said today that skeletal remains discovered in woods in Braintree last week were those of Michael Connelly, 39, who had not been seen for more than three years.
Connelly, 39, had not been seen at his Quincy apartment since December 2002, but no one had filed a missing person report for him, District Attorney William Keating said. "He had the life of a loner and would time to time isolate himself," Keating said, adding that Connelly has some family on South Shore.
The cause of death has not yet been determined and the investigation is ongoing. "There is nothing we have at this juncture that would turn our attention to foul play, but we don't assume anything," Keating said.
Young teens playing in the woods came across bones and a skull last week. Their parents notified the police on Wednesday.
