Saugus Marine killed in Iraq
By Megan Tench, Globe staff
SAUGUS -- The town of Saugus is in mourning today after a 20-year-old resident was killed while on patrol in Iraq over the weekend.
Scott Procopio, a marine, was killed by a roadside bomb while inside a Humvee, town officials said. He was a machine gunner.
His family was notified last night of his death, and teachers at Saugus High School broke down in tears when they heard the news today. Procopio was married in September of 2005.
