Dorchester man convicted in 2004 shooting death
By Stephanie M. Peters, Globe correspondent
Norman Nord, 30, was convicted today of second-degree murder and unlawful firearm possession for the 2004 fatal shooting of his 29-year-old girlfriend Deshanta Bailey.
Bailey, who had been dating Nord for about two weeks at the time of her murder, was shot in the head at Nord's Washington Street rooming house on Aug. 7, 2004, authorities said.
As an armed career criminal, Nord faces tougher penalties on the unlawful firearm possession charge. Bailey's family is to address the court during the sentencing hearing tomorrow in Suffolk Superior Court.
