Police said Michael G. Ricketts, 45, was caught Thursday with about 40 pounds of marijuana after authorities allegedly watched him pick up two packages delivered from Arizona to a phoney business address in Somerville.

Authorities in Arizona had alerted local police about the transfer and Massachusetts state troopers set up surveillance Thursday at the Somerville address.

Ricketts' girlfriend's house in Everett was also searched, and police said they found an additional 35 pounds of marijuana and about $247,200 in cash.

Ricketts was charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession with intent to distribute a class D substance, possession of a class D substance and a school zone violation according to a press release from the Middlesex District Attorney's office.
