Man shot to death in South Boston

A 24-year-old man was killed early this morning at the Old Colony Housing Development in South Boston.

Residents at the crime scene said the victim was shot multiple times during a confrontation with a group of people on East Ninth Street.

Police have not released the name of the victim and no arrests have been made in the case.

The slaying is the 47th homicide in Boston this year and the sixth murder in the last week in the city.
