The daughter and husband of the Jamaica Plain woman killed in last month's Big Dig tunnel ceiling collapse said today that if they win their wrongful death lawsuit, they will use the money to try to fulfill Milena Del Valle's dreams.

Some of the award would go to build houses for the family in Costa Rica and to open an ice cream shop, and some money would be donated to help the poor, said Del Valle's daughter Raquel Ibarra Mora, and Del Valle's husband, Angel.

He wept at times during the press conference, covered live by several local TV stations, as he recounted the events of July 10, when his wife was killed by falling concrete ceiling panels and he was injured. Angel Del Valle also spoke of the family's loss and anger at the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and contractors, who they allege put profit ahead of safety in building and overseeing the tunnel.
