Boston murder suspect arrested in Alabama
By Globe Staff
Boston Police said tonight that they have arrested a 34-year-old Mattapan man in the fatal shooting of Michael Etheridge in Roxbury last October.
Boston homicide detectives and local authorities arrested Robert Lee Jones in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the department said in a statement. Jones will be returned to Boston to face murder charges in the Oct. 5, 2005, death of Etheridge, 40, of Dorchester.
Etheridge was shot four times in the Seaver Street area in the early morning hours, apparently while walking from a club or party celebrating a friend's birthday. He managed to get to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
