A former Blanchard Middle School teacher from Groton was sentenced today to two-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty in connection with the 2005 rape of a 15-year-old Westford boy.

Susan Clickner, 47, was an eighth grade teacher at the Westford school when she was arrested on Aug. 31, 2005 and charged with having sexual intercourse with the then-14-year-old boy in her car on April 8, 2005, authorities said. The victim disclosed the incident to his mother in July 2005 and the family reported the incident to Westford police.

Clickner initially pleaded not guilty, but was sentenced today after she entered a change of plea. She will serve 18 months of the sentence at MCI-Framingham and the balance will be suspended for five years. As conditions of her probation, upon her release Clickner must register as a sex offender, undergo evaluation for sex offender treatment, and avoid contact with anyone under the age of 16.
