Woburn teacher accused of exposing himself
By Stephanie M. Peters, Globe correspondent
A Woburn teacher was arraigned in Cambridge District Court this morning on two charges of open and gross lewdness after police say they caught him exposing himself and masturbating on the porch of a friend's Arlington home, the Middlesex District Attorney's office said.
Arlington police were approached at 10:20 a.m. Sunday by witnesses who reported a man, later identified as Patrick J. O'Connor, 35, of Charlestown, was allegedly exposing himself to passersby. When police approached O'Connor, he ran into the residence and locked the doors, forcing police to obtain an arrest warrant, Arlington police said.
He was ordered held on $1,000 bail today and is due back in court Oct. 2. The Woburn Public Schools said that O'Connor has been suspended from his teaching duties, and that parents were informed that appropriate action had been taken.
