Boston Police investigate Dorchester homicide
By Andrew Ryan, Globe Correspondent
An early morning shooting in Dorchester killed a person, pushing the number of homicides this year in Boston to 56.
Police did not release the name, age or gender of the victim.
Officers responded to a call about a shooting at 1:03 a.m. at 46 Stanwood Street. A victim was rushed to Boston Medical Center and pronounced dead, police said.
There has been two more killings in the city in 2006 than there were at this time last year, when homicides hit a 10-year high.
