Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Brett Myers, right, and his wife Kim Myers arrived this morning at Boston Municipal Court. A judge dismissed domestic violence charges today against Philadelphia Phillies ace Brett Myers after the player's wife asked prosecutors to drop the case stemming from an alleged attack on a Boston street in June. Brett Myers, 25, has agreed to undergo domestic violence counseling and the couple has been seeing a therapist to work out differences in the marriage, lawyers said. Kim Myers, 29, who posted her husband's $200 bond after his arrest, had asked prosecutors to drop the assault and battery charges. Judge Raymond Dougan Jr agreed to dismiss the case after Brett Myers appeared in Boston Municipal Court this morning for a pretrial hearing. He was arrested on June 23 when the team was in town to play the Red Sox and witnesses said they saw the pitcher punch his wife in the face on a Back Bay street. Police responded to the 911 call at 12:26 a.m. and found Kim Myers crying and with a slight swelling on the left side of her face. The police report said a woman accompanying the player and his wife told police they were fighting because he wanted to return to their hotel and she did not. She also told police she saw Myers pull his wife toward the hotel but did not see him strike her. Courtney Knight, 26, who witnessed the alleged attack at 900 Boylston St. with two friends, told the Globe after the incident that Myers seemed "really angry." "He was dragging her by the hair and slapping her across the face," Knight said. "She was yelling, 'I'm not going to let you do this to me anymore.'"
