Despite testimony from a survivor of the execution-style double slaying, a Suffolk County jury today acquitted the Dorchester man charged with murder.

Renardo Williams, 29, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the Aug. 2, 2004, shooting deaths of William Bendolph, 34, and Bendolph's 19-year-old stepson, Jarrell Morris, as they were seated in a minivan outside a home on Castlegate Road.

Williams was found not guilty of the murder charges, as well as counts of unlawful firearms possession and armed assault with intent to murder for the non-fatal shooting of a third man.

That man, Anthony Bendolph, 26, told jurors last week that Williams shot him and that he had known him for 17 years. Bendolph, who was shot seven times, testified despite threats against himself and his family.

Williams' attorney, however, told jurors that his client had been mistakenly identified as the shooter. The jury began deliberations on Tuesday.
