Downed power line forces busing on outbound Blue Line
By Mac Daniel, Globe Staff
Outbound passengers on the MBTA's Blue Line will be bused between the Orient Heights and Maverick during rush hour this afternoon because a power line fell on the tracks near Airport station.
MBTA spokeswoman Lydia Rivera said the power line came down after being swiped by the overhead apparatus on a passing train. About 35 passengers had to be evacuated from the train after the incident because of loss of power. T officials said no one was hurt.
The buses, which are expected to severely slow the commute for Blue Line passengers, will make all local stops, dropping passengers at the Maverick stop to reboard the subway line.
