Homicide victim identified in Brockton

Authorities today identified the body of a 42-year-old man found in a Brockton apartment with a chop wound in his head as Michael Auger.
Police found Auger dead in his Lawrence Street apartment on Monday lying face down in a pool of blood. An autopsy on Tuesday determined that he died from a fractured skull and a laceration to his brain, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.
The case is under investigation by the Brockton and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney's office and the Brockton Police Department.
