A bouncer was shot at a trendy Back Bay restaurant early this morning after police say a fight broke out.
The bouncer, who police did not identify, was rushed to Boston Medical Center in serious condition. Police have a description of a suspect, but there have been no arrests.
At about 12:45 a.m., officers responded to the 33 Restaurant & Lounge on Stanhope Street for a report of a shooting.
"There was some kind of party and the guy who shot is a bouncer," said Officer Eddy Chrispin. "I don't think it was anything other than the bouncer doing his job."
Police said they were still trying to determine what sparked the gunfire at the French-Italian eatery.
Witnesses told investigators that the shooter was a man in his mid-20s who stood 6 foot 4, 225 pounds. The incident remains under investigation.
