By Stephanie M. Peters, Globe correspondent
A state trooper suffered serious injuries this afternoon when he was struck by a 10-wheel dump truck while standing outside his cruiser on Route 116 in Conway during a traffic detail, according to State Police.
The trooper was pulled over near North Poland Road around 2:35 p.m. when the accident occurred, said Trooper Cara England.
He was transported by ambulance to Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. The accident is still under investigation, England said.
