Police have charged a Plymouth man with setting fire to his own home last month.
Stephen T. Butler, 39, has been charged with arson, assault and battery, interfering with the duties of a firefighter, and two counts of injury to a firefighter, according to Plymouth police Captain Michael Botieri.
The Dec. 18 fire caused approximately $300,000 worth of damage to Butler's home on Drew Road. He had to hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
As of today, Butler was still in the hospital. His arraignment had not been set yet been scheduled, Botieri said.
