Woman fatally shot in Boston; police seek help from partygoers
Boston police are investigating the fatal shooting of woman early this morning in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.
The slaying happened sometime before 4 a.m. near the intersection of Geneva Avenue and Westville Street, said police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll.
Police said the woman was a college student in her early 20s. Driscoll said someone drove the woman to Boston Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police believe the incident was tied to an after-hours party that took place on Geneva Avenue.
Police said they are also investigating whether a man who came to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the shoulder had been at the same party.
Police are pleading with partygoers to come forward with information to help solve the case.
