A 41-year-old Arlington man accused of fatally stabbing his 79-year-old stepfather died today from an apparent heart attack while awaiting trial in a state Department of Correction medical facility.

Albert Kleszics was pronounced dead this morning, according to a release from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine an exact cause of death. The facility where Kleszics died was not identified by name.

On Feb. 26, Kleszics was accused of killing his stepfather, Arthur Sullivan, and attacking his mother, 81-year-old Olga Kleszics.

The district attorney’s office said it will file paperwork to formally end the court case since the defendant died.
