Family of four tied up during Quincy home invasion
By Amanda I. Bergeron, Globe Correspondent
Armed intruders tied up a family of four with two children during a break-in overnight at their home in Quincy, police said.
The victims were threatened with guns but not physically injured in the home invasion at 9 p.m. on Belmont Street, police said. The three male intruders made off with jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash, said Captain John Dougan.
"This was not a random event, it appears to have been a planned robbery," Dougan said today in a telephone interview.
The victims told police that the intruders forced their way in the family's home, tied them up, and forced one of the residents to open a locked safe. Officers are searching today for the men, who were seen driving a dark-colored sport utility vehicle.
