Missing teen found dead in Charlton
By Amanda I. Bergeron, Globe Correspondent
The body of a Charlton teenager who had been missing for two weeks was found today in a wooded area not far from where he had been last seen.
Search crews discovered the body of 17-year-old Jeremy Carroll just after 11 a.m. when a state police dog led its handler 300 yards into the woods, said Timothy Connolly, a spokesman for Worcester County District Attorney’s office.
Carroll was last seen on the afternoon of March 13 leaving a friend's house on Beach Road in Charlton.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine a cause of death. Connolly would not discuss additional circumstances surrounding Carroll's disappearance or the condition of body.
"It's an active investigation," Connolly said.
